Abstract:

Hababam Sınıfı Films series which was turned into a screenplay by adopting from the books of Hababam Sınıfı written by Rıfat Ilgaz who stamped on the 1970' s of Turkey; is still protecting its popularity nowadays and it takes part in among the masterpieces of Turkish cinema. Even if it attained success as artistic, the number of studies conducted relevant with this films at the level of academic is little. The research on the values of Hababam Sınıfı Film Series at the aspect of education hasn't done yet, that's way our study will constitute the first. However the examination of these education themed films and the determination study of the effects on the audience is important to make more succesful films from the point of education. At the first part of the study; the subject is founded theoretically by entering the value and values education. At the second part it is tried to show the place of the films in Turkish cinema by mentioning about the history, writer, director and the subjects of the Hababam Sınıfı films series. At the last part Hababam Sınıfı films are examined in terms of values education. Accordingly the messages relevant with the values which take part in the films dealed detailedly in terms of positives and negatives, violence, school culture and education, sexuality; and it's tried to do the evaluation. At our study; document examination from the methods of qualitative search is used and with this method the search datas gained. At the analysis and the interpretation of search datas; categorical content analysis method is used. At the result of commited assesment, it seems that the negative messages relevant with values at Hababam Films Series are pretty much according to positive messages. At the same time; the negative messages relevant with sexuality, violence, school culture and education take part in films pretty much. Key words: Values Education, Cinema, Hababam Sınıfı Films
