Abstract:Immediate placement of dental implants in to fresh extraction sockets decreases the total treatment time for patients. Surgically created bone defects around dental implants stimulate fresh extraction sockets in experimental animal models. The success of various surgical technics, biomaterials and anabolic agents has been evaluated in treatment of such defects. In recent years, basic science and experimental animal studies have exclusively focused on the bone regeneration effect of some anabolic agents. The bone regeneration effect of Platelet-rich fibrin and rifamycin with bone grafts in surgically created bone defects around dental implants has not been evaluated yet. The aim of this experimental study is to evaluate the effect of Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and rifamycin on new bone formation, bone implant contact and residual grafts by applying allografts combined with PRF and rifamycin on the bone defect around the implant and performing histomorfometric analysis, also investigate of the implant stability by resonance frequency analysis. Total of 24 New Zeland white male rabbits were used. Works were consisted of three groups: control group, first and second groups.Totally 9 mm defect were created rabbits tibia bone around the implants. The size of the defects was 9 mm in diameter and 4 mm in depth. Twenty four SLA surface dental implants (3.0 mm width, 10 mm lenght) were placed at the center of the surgically created uniform defects. Control group: Only allograft; coronally definition implants (n=8), group 1: Allografts with rifamycin; coronally definition implants(n=8), group 2: Allografts with PRF; coronally definition implants (n=8). On the 28st day animals were sacrificed for histological evaluation. Resonance frequency measurements (RFA) were made by Osstell ISQ intraoperatively and on the post-operative 28th day. The implants with surrounding bone defects were removed en bloc. Afterwards, undecalcified sections were prepared for histomorphometric analysis. The data were analyzed statistically. As a result; rifamycin and PRF could use allografts on the defect around the implant, because they have positive effects on the bone healing and implant stability. RFA support the histological evaluation. Also positive effects of PRF on new bone formation and implant stability were found significantly higher than rifamycin.
