The mu(+)mu(-) collider to sensitivity estimates on the magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton

Özet

Using the effective Lagrangian formalism, the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton in the mu(+)mu(-) -> mu(+) gamma gamma mu(-) -> mu(+ )tau(tau) over bar mu(-) process are investigated with the future muon collider where root s = 1.5, 3 and 6 TeV. In addition, the bounds at the 95% confidence level on the dipole moments of the tau-lepton are estimated using different integrated luminosities. It is shown that the mu(+)mu(-) -> mu(+) gamma gamma mu(-) -> mu(+ )tau(tau) over bar mu(-) process leads to a remarkable improvement in the existing experimental bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton (a) over tilde (tau) = (-0.00242, 0.00071) and vertical bar(d) over tilde (tau)(e cm)vertical bar = 0.731 x 10(-17) at 95% C.L. for root s = 6 TeV,L = 710 fb(-1) and Q(max)(2) = 64 GeV2.
