Abstract

In this study, the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of Origanwn acutidens (Hand.-Mazz.) Ietsw. collected from Sivas (Turkey) was determined. Rel Assay Diagnostics kits were used to determine TAS. TOS and OSI values. Antimicrobial activity was determined on 9 different bacteria and fungi (Staphylococcus aureus, S. aureus MRSA, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter Candida albicans, Candida krusei, and Candida glabrata) using the modified agar dilution method. As a result of the studies, it was determined that O. acutidens has high antioxidant potential. The extracts were found to be effective on test microorganisms at the concentrations of 25-100 mu g/mL. As a result, it was determined that O. acutidens has high antioxidant and antimicrobial potential and can be used as a natural source with high therapeutic quality.
