Özet

In this study, removal of copper ions from wastewaters in a copper production plant (K.B.I.) located in Samsun by using zeolitic tuffs containing 45% clinoptilolite and 35% mordenite, were investigated. Total adsorption/ion exchange capacity was found to be 0.11 mg Cu2+/g zeolite. t was determined that sodium was the most effective exchangeable ion for ion exchange of copper ions. Calcium, potassium and magnesium contents of wastewater interfaced with the removal of copper ions and greatly increased the amount of zeolite needed to treat a given volume of wastewater.
