Halk oyunları, toplumların yaşantısından doğan, insanların duygu, düşünce ve inanç yapılarına bağlı olarak şekillenen, hareket ve müziğin estetik uyumuyla göze çarpan önemli kültür öğelerinden birisidir. Sivas halk oyunları da kendine özgü nitelikler taşıyan ve büyük çoğunlukla halay tarzında icra edilen oyunlardandır. Bu yazıda Sivas halk oyunlarının oynanışları, hikâyeleri, müzikleri, giyim – kuşamı ve takıları konusunda şimdiye kadar hazırlanmış ve yayınlanmış kitap, makale, broşür vb. çalışmaların bir listesi yer almaktadır. Sivas halk oyunlarıyla ilgili değişik dönemlerde ve dergilerde yayımlanmış makaleler ve bu konuda yazılan kitaplarda çok önemli bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Bu yayınlarda oyunların figür yapısı, öyküleri, temel hareketlerin anlamı ve sergilenme biçimine dönük kapsamlı açıklamalar yer almaktadır. Oyunların kaynakları, üretilmesinde rol oynayan etkenler, hangi dönemlerde ortaya çıktığı, bu dönemlerin özelliklerinin neler olduğu konusunda aydınlatıcı bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Oyunların müzikleri ve farklı dönemlerde notaya alınmış biçimleri, kimler tarafından notaya alındığı, kaynak kişiler ve bu kişilerin oyunlar hakkındaki bilgi ve deneyimlerine de yer veren yazılar bulunmaktadır. Sivas halk oyunlarında kullanılan yöreye özgü bazı kavramlar ve bu kavramların ne anlama geldiği, kaynağının ne olduğu, oyunlarla ilişkisi, etimolojik özellikleriyle ilgili açıklamalara ve bilgilere yer veren çalışmalar da bulunabilmektedir.
Doğrudan Sivas halk oyunlarıyla ilgili olan yayınların yanında, Türkiye
genelinde yapılan araştırmalarda diğer yörelere ait bilgilerin yanında Sivas yöresi
oyunlarına da yer veren kaynaklara da bu çalışmada yer almaktadır.

Folk dances are one of the important cultural elements arising from the life of
societies, shaped depending on the emotions, thoughts and belief structures of people,
and standing out with the aesthetic harmony of movement and music. Folk dances of
Sivas are also among the dances having their own characteristics and mostly
performed in the style of halay. In this article, a list of studies such as books, articles,
brochures etc. prepared and published so far on the figurations, stories, musics, clothes
and accessory of Folk dances of Sivas is included.
There are very important information in the articles published in different
periodsand magazines about Sivas folk dances and in the books written on this subject.
In these publications, there are comprehensive explanations about the figure structure,
stories, the meaning of the basic movements and the way they are exhibited.
Enlightening information are given about the sources of the plays, the factors that
played a role in their production, the periods in which they emerged, and the
characteristics of these periods.
There are articles that include the music of the plays and their notated formats in
different periods, by whom they were notated, the source persons and their
knowledge and experiences about the plays.
There are also studies that include explanations and information about some of the
region-specific concepts used in Sivas folk dances and what these concepts mean, what
their source is, their relationship with the dances, and their etymological features.
In addition to the publications directly related to Sivas folk dances, this study also
includes resources that include Sivas region dances as well as information about other
regions in the researches conducted throughout Turkey.
