Abstract

Background: The aim of this study examines the effect of systemic melatonin administration on proin-flammatory cytokine levels, apoptosis, alveolar bone loss (ABL), lipid metabolism, and diabetic control in in rats with diabetes mellitus (DM) and ligature-induced periodontitis.
