Abstract

Dealing with the relation of the surface geological structure and floodplains is a very important scientific topic. The character of the geological structure is significant as these are areas unsuitable for foundation engineering purposes and it has an influence on a number of activities implemented there. In the anthropogenically influenced study area situated in the Karvina Region of the Czech Republic, apart from alluvial sediments, there are also other sediments, the utilization of which has a number of practical consequences.
