Özet

This study completed by the light of the documents those were taken from the Prime Ministery's Ottoman Archive inspired from the strive and aim to present some interesting and important details about the autopsy surgery made in the last eras of the Ottoman Empire. In this main frame some problems like in which situations it was needed to make surgery, which medical and legal process was followed in the experience and what kind of strives made by the central government for the process of the otopsy practices were tryed to be explained. In doing so some information was given about the today's otopsy practices when it was needed, with the help of that, the differences and resemblances with the practices used in the Ottoman era were explained. So from this study, it was tryed to find some answers for some questions like from which aspects and at which level the otopsy practices of the Ottoman era contributed the progress of today's modern forensic medicine and law scope.
