ANALYSIS OF 7231 PATIENTS WITH ENDOMETRIAL SAMPLING IN OUR CLINIC Begum KURT Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Abstract Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the histopathological results and menopausal status of the cases who underwent endometrial sampling. Materials and Methods: Patients who underwent endometrial sampling according to the results of the examination between 2014 and 2021 in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital were evaluated retrospectively for the diagnosis of endometrial cancer according to their menopausal status. The patients were classified as premenopausal and postmenopausal, and the results were compared. Results: 7231 patients who underwent endometrial sampling between 2014-2021 were evaluated retrospectively. The pathology result of 3.16% (n=229) of these patients was found to be endometrial cancer. While 72.27% (n=5226) of 7231 patients were premenopausal, 27.72% (n=2005) were postmenopausal. The pathology result of 0.68% (n=36) of 5226 patients in the premenopausal period was endometrial cancer. The pathology result of 9.62% (n=193) of the 2005 postmenopausal patients was found to be endometrial cancer. 15.72% (n=36) of the 229 endometrial cancer cases were premenopausal. While 27.72% (n=2005) of 7231 patients were postmenopausal, 84.27% (n=193) of 229 endometrial cancer cases were postmenopausal. Our study continues with sociodemographic, sonographic and biochemical data. Conclusion: The patient's menopausal status is important in making the endometrial sampling decision [1]. Endometrial sampling should not be neglected in postmenopausal patients [2]. The main purpose of endometrial biopsy is to detect endometrial cancer [3].
