Özet

In combating global warming and climate change, the importance of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources is increasing. Our study addresses various strategies to reduce carbon footprint and evaluates their feasibility using the fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method. The weights of criteria used in evaluating these strategies are obtained using Fuzzy Weights by ENvelope and SLOpe (F-WENSLO) method. Evaluation of carbon footprint reduction strategies is performed using Fuzzy Ranking of Alternatives with Weights of Criterion (F-RAWEC) method. Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources have the potential to reduce carbon emissions by offering clean energy options to replace fossil fuels. Fuzzy logic-based MCDM methods evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies by addressing uncertainties and complexities, thus providing an objective decision-making process. While the F-WENSLO method analyzes the feasibility of strategies by determining relationships and weights among criteria, the F-RAWEC method assists in ranking strategies based on criteria to identify the most suitable carbon reduction strategies. This chapter demonstrates the importance and effectiveness of fuzzy MCDM methods in evaluating carbon footprint reduction strategies. Future research could focus on further enhancing these methods using broader datasets and advanced modeling techniques. The findings of this study provide valuable guidance to decision makers in formulating energy management and sustainability policies.
