Bu araĢtırmanın amacı, ‘öğrencilerimizin takipçisiyiz’ adlı projenin etkiliği hakkında veli görüĢlerini almaktır. Proje, okula geç gelmeyi alıĢkanlık haline getiren ve devamsızlık problemi bulunan öğrencilerin velileriyle iletiĢime geçilerek okula gelmeme nedenlerini ortaya koymayı ve öğrencilerin okula devamını sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. ÇalıĢma, Tokat ili merkezinde yer alan bir ortaokulda gerçekleĢtirilmiĢtir. Proje uygulamasının 1 eğitim-öğretim dönemi uygulanmasının ardından proje hakkında velilerin görüĢlerine baĢvurulmuĢtur. AraĢtırmada nitel araĢtırma desenlerinden biri olan durum çalıĢması deseninden yararlanılmıĢtır. Toplamda 20 velinin görüĢünün alındığı görüĢme sonuçları velilerin bu uygulamadan memnun olduklarını, devamlılığının sağlanmasını istediklerini ortaya koymaktadır. Uygulama sayesinde veliler, öğrencilerinin okula karĢı ilgilerinin ne seviyede olduğunun saptanabildiğini, okula karĢı tutum ve davranıĢların ortaya konulabildiğini, öğrenci hatalarının bir an önce düzeltilmesinin sağlandığını ve öğretmen-öğrenci ve veli üçgeninde doğru iletiĢimin kurulabildiğini belirtmiĢlerdir. Ayrıca veliler bu proje sayesinde okula daha fazla güven duyduklarını ve öğrencilerini daha rahat bir Ģekilde gönderebildiklerini ifade etmiĢlerdir. Velilerden biri uygulamayı olumlu bulmakla birlikte telefon yerine yüz yüze iletiĢimin daha iĢe yarar olacağını, bu nedenle devamsızlık problemi olan öğrenci velilerinin en azından haftada bir gün okula çağırılıp bu problem hakkında görüĢülmesi gerektiğini belirtmiĢtir. Öğretmenlerin kendilerini, dersleri ve okulu sevdirmelerinin öğrencilerin geç gelme ve devamsızlık problemine bir nebze olsun çözüm olacağı öneriler arasında yer almıĢtır. Bunun yanı sıra rehberlik servisinin bu konunun üzerinde daha fazla çalıĢmalar yapması önerilmiĢtir. Proje hala devam etmekte olup velilerin olumlu görüĢlerinin yanı sıra öğrencilerin özürsüz devamsızlıklarında azalma olduğu gözlemlenmiĢtir. Bu uygulamanın diğer okullarda da uygulanması veya devamsızlık ve geç gelmeyi önlemeye yönelik farklı projelerin ortaya konması öğrencilerin bu problemlerinin çözümü için faydalı olabilecektir.

The purpose of this research is to get the opinions of
teachers about effectiveness of a project named as ‘We are t follower of our
students’. The project aims to reveal the reasons of students late coming and
absenteeism by contacting the parents whose students have such problems and it
also aims to ensure the attendance of students to the school. The study was
conducted in a secondary school in the province of Tokat. The parents' opinions
were consulted about the project after one semester implementation. Case study
design, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the
study. 20 parents participate in the research and the results revealed that the
parents
were pleased with this project and they wanted it to continue.
Parents thought that thorough the implementation; they could discover the
interest, attitudes and behaviors of students to the school. The project also
provided the correction of student mistakes as soon as possible and established
the proper communication among teacher-student and parent triangle. In
addition, thanks to this project, the parents had more confidence in school and
they sent their children to the school in a more relaxed way. One of the
parents mentioned his positive feelings but indicated that face to face
communication could be more useful to solve these problems. For this reason,
the parents of the students who had absenteeism or late coming problems should
be invited to the school at least one day a week and teacher and parents should
negotiated about these problems. According to parents, to solve these problems,
teachers should endear themselves, lessons and school to the students.
Furthermore, parents suggested that guidance and counseling services of schools
should study on this issue more. The project is still in progress and as well
as the positive opinions of parents, it is seen that absenteeism and late
coming among the students are reduced in this process. Implementation of this
practice in other schools or different projects aimed at preventing students
from absenteeism or coming late can be useful to solve these problems.
