in this study, the effect of the tilted magnetic field on the linear, third order nonlinear and
total optical absorption and the refractive index changes in the GaAs/GaAlAs quantum well
has been investigated. Furthermore, the well parameters, the strength and direction (tilt angle)
of the magnetic field on the optical properties have been investigated. The energy levels and wave
functions of the system are calculated by using the effective mass approximation and the optical
properties are obtained by using the compact density-matrix approach. in generally, electronic and
optical properties of the quantum wells are very sensitive to the applied external fields and well
parameters. Therefore, we can conclude that the effect of the magnetic field can be used to tune
and control the optical properties of interest in the range of the far-infrared electromagnetic
spectrum.
