Türk Dişhekimliği Birliği 28. Uluslararası Dişhekimliği Kongresi, Diyarbakır, Türkiye, 18 - 21 Eylül 2025, ss.1440, (Özet Bildiri)
A 9-year-old female patient presented to our clinic with the chief complaint ofa missing right maxillary central incisor. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed that thetooth was impacted due to thick gingival mucosa. The treatment plan involved performing agingival incision using electrocautery, followed by the application of a Hawley appliance and anorthodontic button to facilitate eruption of the impacted tooth. Informed consent was obtainedfrom the patient’s guardian. After the gingival incision, a Hawley appliance was fabricated, and anorthodontic button was bonded to the labial surface of the tooth. The gingival tissue was excised, and the buccal surface of the tooth was etched prior to bonding the orthodontic button. The Hawleyappliance was then adapted to the patient. A closed elastic chain was attached to the button toapply continuous active traction to the tooth. The patient received oral hygiene instructions, andthe elastic chain was renewed and reactivated at weekly follow-up appointments.
