Experimental investigations to determine the critical surface tension of wetting (C) values by contact angle goniometer and the surface roughness of calcite mineral from the ground products of ball, rod and autogenous mills by Surtronic 3+ direct measurement techniques are presented. The surface roughness values of particles in pelleted forms determined by Surtronic 3+ were stated in terms of the Ra values. The lower surface roughness and C values were observed in the autogenously ground particles while rod mill products had higher surface roughness and C values. It was concluded that, the wettability of calcite increases as the surface roughness of particles increases.
