Özet

Abstract – Floods can be one of the biggest natural disasters because they causes loss of life and property. Among the causes of floods unplanned construction, the geological and climatic conditions of the region were shown. Floods that can be considered hazardous as the largest post-earthquake disaster it is therefore important to minimize its damage. In this study, the hydrological analysis of the Ezine River across the Bozkurt district in the western Black Sea basin of Turkey was examined. This hydraulic analysis was carried out with the HEC-RAS (Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System) software. Earth model was created using the ALOS-PALSAR satellite image. As aresult of this study, flood depth maps and water surface profiles were created in Q50, Q100 and Q500 year repetition periods by terrain model. The water depth reached a height of 1.5 m around the stream and the maximum depth could reach up to 4 meters in the Q50 and Q100 period, while the Q 500 could reach 5 meters.
