Özet

The enzyme tyrosinase plays a role in the production of melanin in living things, and inhibitors of this enzyme are of great importance in preventing serious skin diseases and preventing darkening of fruits. Antioxidants have an important place in life as they protect human health against cell damage caused by free radicals. This research aims to experimentally investigate the inhibitor effect and antioxidant activities of ball-type phthalocyanines, which are promising antioxidant phthalocyanines. In addition, we wanted to comment on the antioxidant activities of these molecules using the theoretically determined molecular properties. In the experimental results, we observed that ball-type zinc phthalocyanine and its quaternized derivative showed antioxidant activity. We also linked the theoretically calculated properties of the molecules with their antioxidant activities. We have seen that the experimental and theoretical results we obtained are in good agreement with each other. Also, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to examine the antioxidant properties of ball-type phthalocyanines. It has also been observed that these compounds have an inhibitory effect on the tyrosinase enzyme.
