Özet

This study analyzes the citations of graduate theses on teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this context, a total of 267 theses between 1988 and 2019 on teaching Turkish as a foreign language were examined. In these theses, a total of 22.763 citations were checked, and the features of the specified literature were reviewed and compared. The study was carried out following the descriptive model, one of the quantitative research designs. The data of the study were analyzed by bibliometric techniques and correlation tests. According to the findings, 2018 is the year the most theses were written. On average, master theses are 167 pages, and doctoral theses are 344 pages. On average, 72 resources were cited in master theses, and 134 resources were cited in doctoral theses. The most theses were supervised by Abdurrahman Guzel and Veli Dogan Gunay, and the master theses were mostly supervised by associate professors while the doctoral theses were supervised by professors. Dil Dergisi and Turkish Studies are the most cited scientific journals. In the examined theses, it is seen that Turkish publications are cited mostly. Focusing on this issue, it is suggested that citation analysis be conducted on refereed papers.
