© 2022,Milli Egitim.All rights reservedThe research was carried out to analyze the features of the postgraduate theses prepared in social studies education and which deal with literary works. In the research, a process in accordance with the qualitative research approach was followed. Research materials are composed of 55 graduate theses related to the subject, which can be accessed from the Higher Education Council National Thesis Center website. The document analysis method was used for data collection. The content analysis given within the scope of the research was analyzed with categorical analysis. According to the findings of the study, the following results were reached. Theses on literary works were prepared in 2019 at the most, and these theses are mostly master theses. Most of the theses were prepared by Marmara University and Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. Most of the theses advisors are PhD. Master’s theses were prepared primarily with the qualitative method, and doctoral dissertations were prepared with the mixed method. Primary or secondary school students and materials (documents) were mostly preferred in sample types. Theses focused mainly on the narrative story literary genre. In addition, no study has been found about fable, criticism, anecdote (newspaper), conversation, interview, travel writing, diary, memoirs, letters, speeches, interview. “social studies”, “value (education, training)”, and “social studies teaching” are mainly used in keywords.
