Özet
Biosurfactants gain great attention from academia and industry due to their unique amphiphilic structures, which can decrease surface and interfacial tension and provide them with degradability, biocompatibility, low toxicity, etc. Due to their structural, physicochemical, and functional properties, they have taken essential places in a wide range of industries such as construction, food, textiles, petroleum, automotive, aerospace, etc. In particular, increasing awareness of environmental issues has led to more attention on biosurfactants to save natural resources through the design of biocompatible, renewable, and sustainable materials. In this chapter, the general properties and applications of biosurfactants are dealt with considering their corrosion protection and inhibition potencies.
