ABSTRACT
The Oratory and Professional Practice course is a course that is taught in the faculties
of theology and can be considered as the showcase of the faculty. Because the
theoretical and practical subjects covered in this course are the most visible face of
the faculty. Many subjects such as performing prayers, performing the muezzin,
reading the sermon, preaching, praying in certain ceremonies are within the scope of
this course. The Oratory and Professional Practice course, which assumes an
important function for all theology students regardless of which institution they will
work in after graduation, is a 2-credit compulsory course taught only for one
semester in the faculty curriculum. However, both the researcher's own
determinations and many other studies on the subject show that the expected function
from this course is not fully realized, so there is a problem. By determining the source
of this problem, "How can we make the related course more functional in the current
conditions?" This question is the starting point of the research. Researches generally
attribute the failure of this course to fully serve the expected purpose, due to the lack
of practice. How will this practice be possible in the faculty of theology, where the
number of students is quite high? This is an important question to ponder. This
research, which was conducted to seek answers to these questions, is a qualitative
study and was carried out in the scanning model. As a data collection technique,
literature review, which is a type of documentary review, was used. At the end of the
study, suggestions were made regarding the solution of the problem.
