and Future Scenarios from a Public Relations Perspective
Abstract
Since the existence of humanity, the question of what
the future will possibly bring has always occupied the human mind. Future is a
concept that carries anxiety, expectations, hope, and uncertainty. Any
organization should eliminate its uncertainties and prevent its misfortunes in
order to exploit its opportunities for its own survival. As a field of
expertise, Public Relations also has to make possible predictions about the
future, by taking the organization's internal and external environment as well
as its target social strata into consideration. For organizations developing a
sustainable understanding of public relations from a futuristic perspective can
be made possible by building various scenarios. In this section, the concept of
futurism and future scenarios are discussed within the realm of public
relations.
