Mastitis, which is one of the most costly diseases of the dairy industry, is widely seen in the world today and has become a nightmare for dairy farmers. The main strategy in the fight against mastitis is based on antibiotics. However, problems such as the high number of mastitis-causing pathogens, the low sensitivity of pathogens to antibiotics, the resistance to antibiotics due to the frequent use of antibiotic treatment, the limited effectiveness of most antibiotics in the udder and milk, the residue in milk, the inclusion of bacteria resistant to the food chain leave businesses vulnerable to mastitis. . Antibiotic control against mastitis pathogens, which can remain intracellular in the breast and often turn into abscesses, is almost completely inadequate. Therefore, alternative methods to antibiotic treatments are sought in the fight against mastitis. These alternative methods form the basis of antibiotic-free treatment in farm animals. For this reason, in this section, different nonantibiotic treatments against mastitis are gathered under the title of mastitis management in organic farms.
