Duyusal gelişimin çocuğun hayatındaki önemi yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu gerçekten yola çıkarak duyu gelişimini desteklemek amacıyla çocuğun gelişim düzeyine ve bireysel ihtiyaçlarına yönelik duyusal materyallerin kullanılması ve duyusal etkinliklerin düzenlenmesi oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak tasarlanan bu araştırmada amaç, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin duyu gelişimi ve eğitimine ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu; 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılı içerisinde Sivas il merkezinde görev yapmakta olan 17 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilmiş olan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmış ve verilerin analizinde içerik analizi uygulanmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin çoğu duyu gelişiminin, duyu organlarının çalışmasını sağladığı için önemli olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin önemli bir bölümü dokunma duyusunun gelişimine yönelik etkinlikleri daha fazla uyguladıklarını ve duyu gelişimini desteklemek için dokunma duyusuna yönelik materyalleri daha fazla kullandıklarını ifade etmiştir. Araştırma sonunda duyu gelişiminin okul öncesi dönemde çocukların gelişimi üzerindeki etkisi nedeniyle, öğretmenlerin bu konuda desteklenmesinin gerekliliğine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.
The importance of sensory development in a child's life is an undeniable fact. Based on this fact, it is very important to use sensory materials and organize sensory activities according to the child's developmental level and individual needs in order to support sensory development. The aim of this research, designed using the interview method, is to examine the opinions of preschool teachers regarding sensory development and education. The sample group of the research consists of 17 preschool teachers working in Sivas city center in the 2022-2023 academic year. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers was used to collect research data, and content analysis was applied to analyze the data. According to the analysis results, most of the teachers stated that sensory development is important because it enables the sensory organs to work. A significant portion of the teachers stated that they implemented more activities aimed at the development of the sense of touch and used materials related to the sense of touch more to support sensory development. At the end of the research, suggestions were made regarding the necessity of supporting teachers in this regard due to the impact of sensory development on the development of children in the preschool period.
