Özet
Bioremediation benefits from green surfactants, which serve as environmentally friendly substances that harmlessly degrade while maintaining low toxicity levels versus conventional synthetic surfactants. Green surfactants enabled through microbial and plant and renewable sources upregulate pollutant accessibility within environments while the microorganisms degrade these contaminants in solid waste as well as aqueous materials and industrial waste products. The chapter examines green surfactants designed for bioremediation together with their operational mechanisms. This research discusses how green surfactants are applied to recover petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals and conduct cleanup operations for oil spills and industrial wastes through examples showing rhamnolipids functioning in soil cleanup and sophorolipids employed in oil spill intervention. Green surfactants use creative production approaches along with multidisciplinary methods to create environmentally friendly remediation technologies that remain cost-effective. This chapter examines recent developments while discussing future potential applications that stress how sustainable surfactant applications enable environmental rehabilitation and pollution mitigation operations.
