Biography
Dr. Atasoy is a veterinary virologist specialising in molecular virology, viral pathogenesis, and vaccine research. His work covers a wide range of animal and zoonotic viruses, including avian, bovine, ovine, and bat viruses, as well as emerging human pathogens such as monkeypox and SARS-CoV-2 variants. He has conducted studies on virus detection, molecular characterisation, phylogenetic analysis, and viral genetics, including the use of CRISPR/Cas9 and Cre–lox systems. In addition, he has contributed to the development of diagnostic kits based on RPA, LAMP, ELISA, and LFD platforms for government and private sector projects, addressing viral detection and disease surveillance in various species.
